Two offset, compact buildings complement the existing MS Dr. Renner School and form a new ensemble surrounded by high valuable natural areas, preserving almost the full number of existing trees. The positioning of a 3-storey structure on the north side of the site creates an appropriate forecourt with a new, inviting entrance area. The 1-storey, offset structure on the south side extends the existing gymnasium and defines the outdoor space for the schoolyard and the outdoor sports facility on the sunny side of the site.

The project aims to modernize the structure of the existing school while respecting the historic architecture and the natural surroundings. The overall appearance is open and close to nature, with a bright, friendly and stimulating atmosphere inside as a prerequisite for pleasant learning and working alone and in groups.

The load-bearing structure is designed as an efficient and resource-saving timber frame construction. All internal partition walls are non-load bearing and can therefore be easily adapted to changing space requirements. The new building picks up on the color scheme of the existing building, which is reflected in the various façade elements.
